A gorgeous basket with embossed floral detail and a vacant cartouche. Small baskets of this type were used at fashionable afternoon teas to serve candies, sweetmeats, or mints.

Founded in 1867 by Julius Loewe Rosenthal (or Judah Louis Rosenthal). He was in partnership with James Wiltshire unit 1877. In 1881 he was joined in partnership by Samuel Jacob and the firm was listed as Rosenthal, Jacob & Co until 1892. when he continued the business at 23 Southampton Street Fitzroy Square as Rosenthal & Co. The business was closed for bankruptcy in 1895
