Hutschenreuter established in 1814 in Bavaria  by Carlos Magnus Hurschenreuter. In 1857 his son Lorenz opened his own factory in the town of Selb where he proved to out shine his fathers success . The Selb Factory was the first German company to compete with the likes of Haviland and Wedgwood. In 1969 Lorenz purchased the assets  to all his fathers company and the two were amalgamated.
