There are multiple tube lined flowers around the vase with stylised green leaves sweeping in the classic Art Nouveau Movement
From the base of the vase to the top
It is signed in full in Blue William Moorcroft Signature to the base as well as impressed Moorcroft stamps
Measuring a lovely height of 31cm
Condition is excellent with no crazing signs and no restoration a few light scratches to the the glaze
Flambe is a distinctive rich, deep-red glaze slashed with streaks of purple and turquoise used to decorate pottery, particularly porcelain The effect results from a particular method of firing a glaze that incorporates copper; the method was first discovered by the ancient Chinese of the Ming dynasty, probably during the reign of Wan-li.
Examples of this old flambé work are now extremely rare. The process was revived in modern times from the early 1920’s by individual potters, notably Bernard Moore in England, who influenced Royal Doulton and Moorcroft in the use of the glaze.Fired at high temperatures many pieces did not survive in the kiln
