Victorian Silver and blue glass covered sugar basket by The Barnard London 1843 with lattice work frame applied with a leaf-and-berry garland, raised on four acanthus-headed scroll feet with  blue glass liners to the lid and the base section .12,5cm high 15 cm wide , 595g in total. 

Sugar baskets are the smallest of antique basket tableware, they were used to hold sugar for tea or sweetening foods. More of a decorative and novelty item, the popularity of these pieces was due to the demand  items of silver tableware.
